In the early 1980s, UB40 celebrated their first success with the song "Food For Thought". By the time they released their first album, they were already so successful that they withdrew their support, resulting in the "Signed Off" form that graced the cover of their debut album. The debut, which was the first dub album ever to reach the UK charts, also included the tracks "One In Ten" and "Don't Slow Down". In 1983, the group focused on a new project and recorded ten cover versions of Jamaican hits. Although expectations for this album were not very high, it became a mega-hit and the group's first number one album. It featured the songs "Cherry Oh Baby" and "Please Don't Make Me Cry" as well as "Red Red Wine", from which the limited edition album "Collected" draws its color. The track "Red Red Wine" was more pop, became the band's best-selling single and marked their international breakthrough. Over the years, there have been many collaborations, each of which have become hits. UB40 recorded two singles with Chrissie Hynde: "I Got You Babe" in 1985 and "Breakfast In Bed" in 1988. They recorded "Reckless" with Afrika Bambaataa in 1988 and "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" with Robert Palmer in 1990. "Collected" shows all the different phases of the band on one album.
