Brotherhood of the Snake is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Testament , released on October 28, 2016. It is the band's first album with guitarist Alex Skolnick and bassist Steve DiGiorgio since 1992's The Ritual and the first with drummer Gene Hoglan since 1997's Demonic. The album was produced by Andy Sneap and the cover artwork was by Eliran Kantor. Brotherhood of the Snake was well received by music critics, who praised the band's return to their thrash metal roots.

Still here, still good "Brotherhood Of The Snake" is Testament's eleventh studio album and the long-awaited follow-up to 2012's "Dark Roots of Earth". Chuck Billy (vocals), Eric Peterson (guitar), Alex Skolnick (guitar), Steve DiGiorgio (bass) and Gene Hoglan (drums) recorded the new album from April to June this year. For the fifth time they worked with sound engineer Andy Sneap (Saxon, Opeth, Amon Amarth, Megadeth). Juan Urtega was in charge of production. Testament brought the first listen of the title track "Brotherhood Of The Snake" back in September. A few weeks later, the second preview of the album "Stronghold" was released. Both pre-release singles show that the metal quintet is back, loud and clear. One hard riff replaces the other on consistently frantic rhythms. They also find room for extensive solos. Above it all looms the voice of frontman Billy, who proves that he is still one of the best in his profession, both when singing and shouting. In addition to the standard CD, "Brotherhood Of The Snake" is also available as a double LP and limited box set. It includes the album on CD and a limited edition double LP with picture disc. Their legendary status is no accident: the Testament are still around and they're still incredibly good. "Brotherhood Of The Snake" is proof of that.
