25 songs from the legendary flamenco guitarist's career up to 2005. In his book "Guitar: music, history, players", Richard Chapman describes the Spanish guitar virtuoso Paco de Lucía as a giant in the world of flamenco. No other musician has changed the role of the guitar in flamenco music as much as Paco. In his nearly 50-year solo career, Paco has won legions of new fans for flamenco and Spanish guitar music around the world and has influenced several generations of young flamenco guitarists. In 1967 he recorded "La Fabulosa Guitarra de Paco de Lucía", his first album under his own name. With the legendary singer Camarón de la Isla, Paco recorded ten albums in the following years, which made him famous throughout the flamenco world. In 1973, with his fourth solo album "Fuente Y Caudal" and the hit "Entre dos aguas", he managed to break the conventions of flamenco and enter new musical territory. Although Paco had already accompanied Spanish saxophonist Pedro Iturralde on his album "Flamenco Jazz" in 1967, he initially followed the traditional flamenco line on his own recordings. Through his acquaintance with jazz guitarists John McLaughlin, Larry Coryell and Al Di Meola, Paco's musical horizons continued to expand from the mid-1970s onwards. When, in 1980, he recorded the historic guitar trio album "Friday Night In San Francisco" with McLaughlin and Di Meola, he finally came into the spotlight. Other notable collaborations with jazz musicians followed, including a 1982 collaboration with pianist Chick Corea on the album "Touchstone". It was not until 1987 that he returned to his flamenco roots on the album "Siroco". Thereafter, Paco has always presented himself as a versatile composer and guitarist on his albums.
Album comprende generi Jazz, Musica latina, Jazz latino e Flamenco.
