The album "Morton Subotnick: Silver Apples Of The Moon · The Wild Bull" was released in 1994 and features two seminal electronic compositions by Morton Subotnick. The first track, "Silver Apples of the Moon," was commissioned by Nonesuch Records in 1967 and became one of the first electronic works to be specifically composed for the LP format. It is recognized as a landmark in electronic music for its innovative use of the Buchla synthesizer, which Subotnick helped develop with inventor Don Buchla. The second piece, "The Wild Bull," followed in 1968 and continued Subotnick's exploration of synthesized soundscapes. Both pieces are notable for their pioneering techniques and have influenced subsequent generations of electronic and experimental composers.
