"Il Volo sings Morricone" is the new album of the Italian star trio Il Volo. Proving that the trio holds the legendary composer in high esteem and close to their heart, Il Volo has dedicated the entire album to the unforgettable melodies of Ennio Morricone. The new lyrics for 14 Morricone songs were written in collaboration with the Morricone family, whose son Andrea himself wrote the lyrics for the song "L'estasi dell'oro" from the film "Two Famous Villains" and for the unknown song "I colori dell'amore", which was first performed in the summer of 2021. The album features Morricone's big hits in fantastic new arrangements such as "Your love" (from "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod"), "Se" ("If") and "Would he even know me now?" (from the film "Cinema Paradiso") and "Here's to you" (from the film "Sacco & Vanzetti").The album also features famous guests: the star violinist David Garrett on "La Califfa" ("The Lady Caliph"), the cellist Stjepan Hauser on "Se" and the excellent trumpeter Chris Botti on "Come sail away". The album was recorded at the Forum Studio in Rome, with Marcello Rota conducting the Roma Sinfonietta, an orchestra that has worked extensively with Ennio Morricone since its inception.

"Il Volo sings Morricone" je nové album italského hvězdného tria Il Volo. Na znamení vysoké úcty a blízkého vztahu tria k legendárnímu skladateli věnovalo Il Volo celé album nezapomenutelným melodiím Ennia Morriconeho. Nové texty ke 14 Morriconeho skladbám vznikly ve spolupráci s rodinou Morriconeových, jejíž syn Andrea sám napsal text k písni "L'estasi dell'oro" z filmu "Dva slavní lotři" a k neznámé skladbě "I colouri dell'amore", která byla poprvé uvedena v létě 2021.

Album obsahuje fantastické nové úpravy velkých Morriconeho hitů, jako jsou "Your love" (z filmu "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod"), "Se" ("Kdyby") a "Would he even know me now?" ("Poznal by mě vůbec?"). (z "Cinema Paradiso") nebo "Na tebe" (ze "Sacco & Vanzetti") a na albu se objevují i slavní hosté: hvězdný houslista David Garrett v "La Califfa" ("Paní Kalifa"), cellista Stjepan Hauser v "Se" a vynikající trumpetista Chris Botti v "Come sail away". Album bylo nahráno ve studiích Forum v Římě za řízení orchestru Roma Sinfonietta, který s Enniem Morriconem intenzivně spolupracuje již od svého založení, dirigentem byl Marcello Rota.
