Bonobo at creative zenith Good news at the beginning of the year for all downtempo and electro fans. After a hiatus of about three years, Simon Green aka Bonobo returns in 2017 with a new LP. "Migration" is the title of the English producer, composer, musician and DJ's sixth studio album. It is the long-awaited follow-up to 2013's "The North Borders", with which Green and his 12-piece collective first embarked on a major world tour. It was there, on the tour bus to be exact, that "Kerala", the first song and first single from the album "Migration" was written. A typically multi-layered Bonobo track with repetition and twists, dance beats, loops, electronic elements and a vocal sample from R'n'B star Brandy. Bonobo also has some real vocal support on his new album, and several times. Nick Murphy aka Chet Faker, Michael Milosh from the band Rhye, Nicole Miglis from Hundred Waters and last but not least the Moroccan band Innov Gnawa. In addition to the standard CD and double LP, "Migration" is also available in a limited deluxe edition. This double LP is released on 180g vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with a complementary set of cards. The whole thing is packaged in a PVC sleeve with printed gold lettering. Versatile, technically challenging and full of great tunes - Bonobo seems to be at his peak in 2017. "Migration" is proof of that.
